Ashley works to promote positive social change through her professional career, education, public speaking, individualized support and daily interactions.
In recognition of her commitment to the LGBTQIA+ community, Ashley was presented a Mayoral Citation from Maria Rivera of Central Falls, and received the Martin Luther King Jr. Excellence in Civic Involvement Award through Family Service Association of Fall River. She was also previously selected a RI Pride Parade Grand Marshall and voted N.E. Pride TV’s Person of the Year (RI) recognizing her advocacy and ongoing commitment to LGBTQ+ wellness.
Ashley cares deeply about youth and community mental health. She has lobbied in support of LGBTQ+ youth mental health and supported several Gender and Sexualities Alliances (GSAs). She facilitated monthly Affirming Task Force (AFT) Meetings through Family Service Association, providing education, networking and resource sharing opportunities to strengthen cultural humility amongst human service providers.
